What started as one diver’s passion in a small garage, has grown into a trusted home for divers across Volusia County and beyond.
In 1987, founder Jerry Berndt set out with a simple mission: share the magic of the underwater world. As that passion spread, so did the community around it—leading Discover Diving Dive Center to become a member of PADI in 1990 and into its home today, on Seabird Island, in Port Orange, FL
In 2011, the next chapter began when Michele Reed took the helm. A dedicated diver, educator, and PADI IDC Staff Instructor, Michele has continued to build on that original vision—placing safety, exceptional instruction, and genuine connection at the heart of everything this dive center does.
